Q: I’ve taken a lot of extra courses. Will I be charged more for tuition?
A: Maybe; students who enrolled in college for the first time between Fall 1999 and Summer 2006 will be charged an extra $75 per credit hour once they have taken more than 45 hours above the required hours for their degree program. Students who enrolled in college for the first time Fall 2006 and later may only take 30 hours above the required hours for their degree program. Ex: Juan enrolled in college for the first time in Fall 2003. His degree program requires 128 hours. For any hours Juan takes beyond 173 hours (128+45), he will be charged an extra $75 per credit hour. If you think this rule may apply to you, contact a College advisor.
Q: I’m having financial problems. Where can I go for advice and help with managing my finances?
A: The new Student Money Management Center can provide FREE advice on topics such as credit, loan, financial planning, and reading and understanding your credit report. The Center provides workshops and personal consultations to UNT students. For more information visit the Career Center’s website.

Q: How does repeating a course at UNT affect my UNT GPA?
A: The first time you repeat a course taken at UNT at UNT, the second grade earned will replace the first grade earned in your GPA. Please note that if you take the course a third time, only the first grade will be removed. Also, repeating a course does not remove the first grade from your transcript.
Q: If I repeat a course I took at UNT at another school, will it help my UNT GPA?
A: Maybe. If you repeat a course at another school and turn in a duplications request form at the Registrar’s Office, your first grade will be removed from your GPA, but it will not be replaced by the grade earned at the other school. If you are considering repeating a course at another institution, please contact your advisor.
