COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING BOARD OF ADVISORS FELLOWSHIP GUIDELINES

Through funds provided by the College of Engineering Board of Advisors, the UNT College of Engineering will award six graduate and 10 undergraduate fellowships during February 2008. Each fellowship will have a value of $1000. Awards will be made to selected qualified students who major in engineering, computer science, and engineering technology sub-disciplines.  The UNT College of Engineering is committed to the goals of the Texas Higher Education Plan, Closing the Gaps, with diverse participation for all Texans and ethnic backgrounds.

Committees from the College of Engineering will select fellowship recipients based on a holistic evaluation that includes the following criteria and additional extracurricular activities:

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR CONSIDERATION

Undergraduate Students:

Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student in an Engineering program at UNT during the Spring semester of 2008, have a minimum UNT cumulative grade point average of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale), and be in good standing at the University.

            1.         GPA

            2.         SAT/ACT

            3.         Extracurricular Activities

Interested undergraduate students must submit an application form by January 21, 2008.

Graduate Students:

Applicants must be enrolled as full time graduate students during the Spring semester 2008. Scholarships to graduate students will be decided on the following criteria:

            1.         GPA

            2.         GRE

            3.         Degree sought

            4.         Area of concentration (i.e., is this a research area in which ‘faculty’ are

                        involved)

            5.         Letters of recommendation

Interested graduate students must submit an application form by January 21, 2008.

Applications must be completed in full.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.
